self parking wipers

does anyone know what could be wrong, my 03 focus wipers don't continue to the park position if i turn them off. most irritatting is the "one swipe" you can't just give it a flick!!

do i need a new motor assembly or is there a switch thingy inside. (i'm assuming its not controlled electronically or from a relay) if anyone can shed any light i'd be very grateful.

theres a position sensor somewhere that keeps a live feed going until it parks at the correct place. You just need to find it! No idea on specifics unfortunately.

should be on the wiper mechanism rather than the motor itself id guess.

Think some are also done in the relay itself, need a manual me thinks.

Ford always used to fit the parking sensor on the wiper motor, it was a sort of micro switch. Dont know about Focus though, too modern for me. Ray.

Modern stuff usually does it in the relay, also does the intermittent wipe etc. Sorry don't know where the wiper relay is tho'.
Try a post on the Parkers forum, I found it very helpful for a problem I had.

I had this on the disco, was a dirty contact inside the motor on the slip rings, turned out too be a easy fix once I got inside the motor, it did fail its MOT on this too, that's why I fixed it.
