It was sent it by me Bro in Red deer Alberta, but the pic looks like a place i have stayed,AlgonQuin (?) park One of the best weeks I've ever had, even had fun getting back to montreal, it was the day of the power out, you try getting fuel when all the pumps are out !! then we had to fly back to JFK for a connection back home, luckily we managed to get a diverted flight direct to Heathrow

I'm no expert but they look like grizzlies, so yeah, it'd be western Canada - Alberta or BC, probably in the rockies - maybe Banff?

My encounter like this one was in Algonquin park - 3 black bears crossing hwy 60 early one morning. They were gone before I could get at my camera that was packed away.

Earlier that same week we were cycling in the park, my son just ahead suddenly dropped his bike and quickly ran back to us. "There's a bear on the path dad!". Slowed us up a bit . Pretty lucky, I've been there many times and not seen even one.

If you ever come back, try to spend a few days/week canoeing in the Algonquin interior away from the main camping areas. Doing that you go from hoping to see a bear to praying you don't .

It sure was a weird time, that power outage. It was the first and last time I thought "no need to bring the house keys, I'll get in using the garage door opener later" - the kids and I sat outside in the heat for 3hrs till my wife got home to let us in, lol.

I've no idea where abouts in the park we were, but it was quite a long way in , we never saw any bears Really in the wild, but a waitress at the lodge we stayed at told us to drive to the 'Tip' road just before dark, We saw a mother with three cubs crossing the track about twenty foot ahead of the car !! the kids were speachless it was such a lovely sight

Hope to back over to Montreal in the next year or so for a crimbo visit, my wifes sister and husband live in Hudson
