The best thing for intruders/carrol singers are large, fury, have big teeth and bark/snarl and anybody that comes close (oh and doesn't play
fetch).
Any other wepon could be used against you by intruders or by a court of law.

And they keep you fit , cost a fortune in vets bills and break your heart when you have to have them put down. Not sure about the barking/snarling bit
mine wouldn't have given any warning to an intruder .

I must admit my hound is not likely to bite, and is doesn't always brack when it should but it is garanted to lick and intruders to death.
