Do you think this is a scam
i've been looking for a cheap little run about for over winter, and have been looking at ford Ka's
i replied to an add on gumtree
for a 2003 ford ka, thats up for £750 with 50.000 miles
it should be up for more like £1,500/£2,000
this is what i got back
Hi there,
Before we move forward I would like you to know that I posted the ad on eBay as a "classified ad" and it was transferred on gumtree due to
their new eBay-gumtree partnership(eBay bought Gumtree in 2005) and now instead of being listed on eBay it's listed on gumtree.
Because of this I can only close a deal through the eBay system and with eBay members only.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
PS: I'm an experienced seller on eBay (sold a few cars until a year ago). You can check my eBay ID so you can see my feedback. I'm
ultrathong on eBay. Here is a link where you can see my feedback: http://myworld.ebay.com/ultrathong.
then this once i replied
Hi there,
I wouldn't want to waste any more of your time so let's get to work. My post code is GU9 8PE. The buy it now price is 750 pounds, wedding
next month forces low price sale. I am a consultant engineer so I spend most of my time doing field work (always on the road between our main office
in London, work sites and home sweet home) therefore I am offering a 5 days refund and return policy which with eBay's help makes things a lot
easier for me and the buyer. Inspection prior to the sale (if it's a must) can be arranged today since tomorrow it's back to the work site
for the next 10 days. Pick up or delivery need a 3 days notice. Kindly reply in a timely manner if you want to buy it now and secure the deal through
eBay.
All the best.

that sounds like a scam to me, Looks like he is trying to prove how good he is by refering to somebodies profile/feedback on ebay. seems odd he only
gives you tomo to look at the car
Speed has never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary... that's what
gets you.

First reaction is yes, and now that I've read it does sound a little dodgy... Then again get an inspection before you bid

Gumtree thread about the same thing. Definitely dodgy.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
