I'd like to call one item of BS here, my brother has sprayed deodorant to such a degree it was pooling in his hand and it didn't explode.
I feel it's unlikely...

Some aerosols use butane as the propellant, so a lighted match could cause a small fire. Maybe he's been pouring petrol down the toilet -
surprisingly common iirc.
