Fuel Pressure regulator advice

I have a Sierra 2.0 which used to be injection but now has 45 DCOE carbs. If I leave the factory electric fuel pump in place and put a pressure regulator under the bonnet, will I need one that has a return on or should I blank off the cars return pipe to the tank?

Wondered if it'll blow a pipe if the return isnt there, or perhaps the easy option is to just include the return in the plumbing?
Any advice would be much appreciated.....

I would just get a new pump suitable for the carbs.

You'll struggle to get a regulator that will cope with 40+psi going into it and putting out the 2-3psi that carbs need. I'd replace with a carb suitable pump, it's not worth the risk having fuel pressurised significantly above required usage.

Long time since I played with carbs, (the devils invention), but would say around 3 psi would do the trick. HTH Ray
