OT: Help with a team name
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some help/inspiration.
I play ice hockey in the RAF, our regional team has decided that we are going to rebrand the club. The current club name is RAF Eastern Crusade.
We are made up of all of the camps in the East of the country, hence the current name.
I know there are some pretty imaginitive/creative people on here, so can anyone think of some team names that:
A. Sound good
B. Are respectful due to the fact we represent the RAF
C. Portray a strong, determined team
So far we have come up with the RAF Eagles, RAF Vulcans, RAF Tomahawks and RAF Predators.
RAF Typhoons is out of the window because the RAF's First team's logo is the Typhoon; RAF Lightening (the new Joinst Strike Fighter,
Lightening II) is also not an option because the Combined Service Team uses this name.
Let's see what the collective can come up with!!
Cheers,
Chris.

I was born not far from Wattisham and remember the EE Lightnings flying over.
Went on a school trip to the base and the pilot that showed us round his aircraft said that he could intercept
a Russian bomber over the North Sea and be home before his tea got cold. Nothings that quick now.
Mmmm.
Anyway, you said that Lightnings out, so how about "The Phantoms" ?
We still have a visitor or two from Wattisham as the area in front of my house has almost no housing so
helicopters use it to practice night flying.
The Phantoms used to turn over my house to line up with the runway when landing but that stopped when
Stansted expanded, hence just helicopters.

The Crusade bit is the part we're worried about, if you search for "crusade definition" on google, you'll see what I mean, and
the possible implications with the RAF representation...

Hence adding the ers. It makes about the action of the crusading not the religious wars.
