One for the Irish
NEWS FLASH!!
After digging to a depth of 100m last year, English scientists
found traces of copper wiring dating back 1000 years, and came to
the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone
network one thousand years ago.
So as not to be outdone, in the weeks that followed, Scottish
scientists dug 200m, and headlines in the Scottish newspapers
read: "Scots scientists have found traces of 2000 year old optical
fibers, and have concluded that their ancestors already had
advanced high-tech digital telephones 1000 years earlier than the
English."
One week later, the Irish press reported the following: "After
digging as deep as 500m, Irish scientists have found absolutely
nothing. They have concluded that 5000 years ago, their ancestors
were already using mobile phones".
I'm sure I've got one, just don't know where I've put it

Andy
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

"I don't know what I may seem to the world. But as to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore and diverting myself
now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than the ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me." -
