I have seen a programme on TV where the naturalists were following a pride of lions. One day some water buffalo attacked the pride, scattering the
adults, then searched through the long grass for the cubs, which they trampled.
I heard people say quite a few times that water buffalo are the most dangerous animals in Africa - there's not much they're afraid of, and
they're VERY big, strong and fast!

Unrelated fact.
I read that there are more people killed by hippos than lions in Africa. Apparently they will attack anything in the water including boats without
provocation.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I don't know about 'without provocation', being charged at by a boat would probably provoke me. The trouble is that for a two-ton
beastie they're very good at not being spotted when they're in the water, accidentally get too close and they do have a pop
