Show me your body!
Miks15 - 22/3/09 at 08:25 PM

Im having a bit of a dilemma as to what my bodys gunna look like.

Because of changed the chassis a "normal" 7 shape wont work. I could still pull it off but the nosecone would have to wider so it wont be in proportion to a normal 7. I think i could still make it look good and itll be unique (which is what i like)

But im just thinking about my other options. So what other bodyshapes are there to take inspiration from?

Cheers

Mikkel

Im in the same situationas you. What i want to do is have the cockpit back as normal seven but make a fully enclosed front end hinged at the bottom where the nose would normally be, ala E-type

thats exactly my thought!

But then i was thinking it would need sidepods of some kind so it was full bodied.

I already have my back end decided its the front end im worried about.

Its either going to be a wide 7 style nosecone or some sort of full bodied set up

just a thought, I have the body moulds if interested. No idea if it could be made to fit though

its a nice shape, but not quite what im looking for,

I prefer the more aggresive angular look, for example i love the gumpert apollo (just popped into my head since i wathed that TG earlier)

Liam

Are you looking to sell the moulds ?

Have always liked that shape.

My frame is standard width (early frame) with the nose cone 2" wider.

Its never been commented on. Rescued attachment OSF_body_view_7oct2006.JPG

Im not saying that it wouldnt look good, but i think mine would be more than 2" wider, plus like i said i like to be different so just looking into my options

Why not draw/photoshop some designs up and then profile some styrofoam to make a mould?

Or just fit some extra huge wheels on to make it look more in proportion?

Once i get my suspension sorted and wheels onthats probably what i do. I need a visual of how itll look on the car

Hi, my nose cone is 51/2" wider than the standard Locost one. Gives the car, (I think), a harder look, but had to be that wide to fit all Sierra parts, steering rack etc. Cheers Ray

I sketched an alternative style body that I was going to make, but time was a problem for me so I have now gone with standard bodywork.

What do you think?

I love it But, it looks very similar to what some fellow countrymen of me create:

Donkervoort D8 GT

It is way to expensive, but sooo cool!

Oh I don't know, looks like you could (fairly) easily make a mould for grp or beating some metal into shape.

Both of the above designs look good to me, might have to steal one when I get more experienced.

I absolutly love the donkervort

hammerhead thats a nice design! Might steal a few ideas of it when i get down to final design
