Does anyone remember the VW Polo Harlequin?
Ahhem
Rescued attachment s4harlequin.jpg
My dad works at the VW dealer in Newark...
They had one of those stupid bloody things in the compaund for a fair while.
Christ knows who ended up with it, but they look ridiculous///
I used to sting the insurance engineers for blending adjacent panels until they twigged. Oh how we larfed!!!!
apparently the polo harlequin came about because during one of the big morotshows one of the production directors of VW in Gemany was boasting that
thier production turn around was so slick that they could make a car of any colour and have it at the show in the morning, some smart ass suggested
what you see above
Apparently they managed it too!

They actually did a beetle harlequin in about 1925 (ish) and they just updated it for some reason yet to be explained
They didn't make any beetles until the late 30's, but we get what you mean.
I actually drove a Polo harlequin for a couple of days as a courtesy car, the look on peoples face was a picture!
Cheers
