Do they need to have the BS stamp on them post SVA? i.e for MOT.

DO the wipers need to park?

Could I use altenartive material to Laminated Transport glass e.g. Polycarbonate.

How does Polyc* get effect with things like wipers. (does it scratch badly)?

PolyC scratches very easily... If you choose your supplier carefully they should be able to sell you a coated polycarbonate which has a tough layer on the outside to protect the PC....

but even that scratches fairly easily. Just look at the coated lenses on a pair of glasses.

If you want wipers, it has to be glass.

I've only had one quote, from a small local place.

Was £60 from a local place.

Wasn't going to be possible to get it with the BS number but I'll cope. I've SVA'd long ago!

James although my last screen was not done by them, Autoglass cut and fitted a laminated screen to my frame on the special and that had all the information embedded.

If it's PolyC just lose the wipers and take the screen out for MOT (it's what Charlie in PPC does for his 27L Rover)... If you've got wipers it'll get scratched too quickly.

Otherwise get one cut down to the shape of your screen as suggested (though getting this done can be difficult, when I tried Autoglass they said WTF!!!)...

My son's Westfield needed a new screen, and I think it was Autoglass who did it. It was the windscreen company that is owned by the RAC.
They got their agricultural department to come and cut one to fit. It had all the correct markings on and cost something like £35 - was a couple of years ago now.
I was a bit amazed about the price.

But does it need the Kite mark BS mark on it for the MOT?
