When I first start driving my car, it's absolutely rock solid, not a rattle or a squeak. After I've done about 20 miles it sounds like I
have a family of the aforementioned rodent who unleash a cacophany of squeaks, squeals and chirrups on every undulation. If I'm not caning the
car, the noise is louder than the engine!
I thought it may be the bonnet expanding and rubbing against the scuttle, but the bits of rubber trim I used to keep them apart appear to have made no
difference. Any ideas what I should be looking at/lubricating?
Sounds like the suspension bushes - what did you use?
I have polyurethane bushes on my car and they sqeak a bit when the weather gets hot & dry.
Yeah - it's been very quiet the last two years though
To be honest I don't know as I didn't build the car, I assume they are poly bushes. If iy is the bushes, what can I do (if anything) to shut them up?
Might be worth checking that the bushes are not damaged and that their bolts are done up properly...
Then you could lube them up with some silicone spray grease?
