well, i don't really like the normal locost arse end, so i'm thinking towards something like this
any thoughts?
cheers
apolagies to woodster, but it was the best angle i could find for editing

The Robin Hood S6 was like that, they called it a "barrell back"
I called it "ugly", but then it's just my opinion.
Cheers
Chris
I like it! Not much on luggage space, tho' (if that matters).
Lots of ways to do the rear if you're not afraid of GRP, this being the easiest-looking that I've seen.
Interesting that the rear is higher than the usual Locost. IMO, even just raising the rear deck helps the looks a bunch.

Where's the fuel tank going to fit? It looks like the automobile answer to the bungalow.
yours, Pete.

another 2 ideas
i think 3 is too arsey, and 4 is getting somwhere
Perhaps a vertical swage line down the middle
And I thought this forum had stooped as low as it could go.
Funny stuff yes, rude stuff within reason...
But this hammers down all decency and craps on it's grave.
So much for it being a f*cking car building community forum.
It's turning into a pile of shite.
Give me a shout when it's back to being half normal.
Seriously, it looks very much like a 1930's Riley, the Gamecock I think, perhaps a google search?
hmmmm

seems to have a lot of rileys

Oh, when I was speaking of deck height before, I meant the top, where the roll bar mounts. I think some Locosts looks a bit 'squatty'. The
SPD may kill you, but they have a nice sense of esthetics. Have you seen the Snake?
Are you going for vintage or modern? How about a torpedo with cycle fenders?
Riley 12/4:

i'm going for modern-ish
the story so far.
all round i like the locost/seven style, but i'm not keen on the back end, and wasn't keen on the higher ground clearance at the back
very nice, but not the one I was thinking of. There was a kit/replica available a few years ago with a rounded rear end, the design looked very balanced
I prefer the 1st one with perhaps an inch added at the bottom.
I think Noddy and his friends would too!!
could be worse..
could be green & alu like every other seven
Interesting registration number though
Lotus Mk6 did a smooth back.

not sure if i like it, but another version of the 6 rear i found
Ooh you bitch!!!

talking about SPD having good asthetics. Didnt they use MK bodywork, or did they make that themselves?
i think it was just mk
but i doubt they could manage to fit it right
Wounded, sniff

I prefer green and silver anyway.

Dave, are those trailing arms really that long?, may have a SVA problem with them !
Yes. But don't get distracted, you're supposed to be admiring the cleverly composite shape of the rear end panels!!
Apart from the wings (which could be copied in fibreglass) it's single curvature aluminium.
Anyway SVA won't pose a problem because
(A) it's not in UK and sadly
(B) it's nothing to do with me.

Out with the metal polish and flour then.
Mmmm... drool... metal polish and flour, yummy...
er hang on... How did you know that?! Have you been spying on me?
Quick.. out with the green and silver paint!
