Windscreen glass
RK - 23/5/09 at 01:44 AM

Has anybody had their request to the local auto glass place refused? The local guys near me wouldn't do it!

"Well, can you suggest anybody who might want to?"
Answer: "well, maybe the other Lebeau place across town".

Me: "Would you be able to call them and ask?" Answer: "No, we have nothing to do with them".

I am living in a vacuum. I expect to hear from the bridge of the Enterprise any moment to beam me back up.

My local windscreen place said they could get a Caterham screen for £90 but wanted £200 to fit it!!!!

Not suprisingly I did it myself. Took an hour....

Had I thought nobody would do it, I would have bought the glass from GBS at the same time as the frame, and would have saved myself a month of work.

My uncle had a piece of glass made for his Model A Ford, why is this so hard?

Do you have a local "plant" glazing company? As in mechanical diggers etc, they may be able to help.

Sorry I don't know what that is.

Don't know what your term for it would be but things like bulldozers, diggers etc we would call plant equipment. Not to be confused with plant as in flowers etc. We have plant glazing specialists who often have to cut glass to fit whatever they are glazing.
