Ok, so I have removed the damaged arches and rear panel after my crash this week, but there is a hell of a lot of adhesive left on the Chassis - polyurethane stuff I suspect, its very soft but is well on there. How can I get it off quickly? What solvent? I've been in the garage all day trimming it off with a blade and I'm bored now!
white spirits and the rough side of a washing up sponge! works brilliantly
Wire cup wheel in an angry grinder should make short work of it (but will probably take off any paint as well )
I suppose the big question is how much do I need to get off bearing in mind I am going to stick another on back on? Does it need to be stuck on or
will rivnuts and bolts do? As I didn't build it I am learning as I go!
No adhesive = vibration I assume?
all that holds my rear tub on is three bolts into the fuel tank cradle at the back of the car. arches are then bolted to the tub.
my rear tub, is held on with tiger seal around the bottom edge, and then a bit off tiger seal down the side's with 5 little rivets each side,
that is all.
hmm not sure what will get it off through.
and not sure if you can just stick it to the old adhesive.
sorry for not be much use.
