need some ral Black gelcoat?
aka Keith - 30/6/09 at 08:43 AM

After my incident at Bovington, I need to do a few repairs to the bodywork.

Where is the best place to get some RAL Balck Gelcoat from, I only need a tiny amount.

Have looked online, and found glass places, but the smallest they do is 1 litre and it costs the same again in postage.

Any other places I should check out?

I've been playing around lately making moldings for my r/c planes and parts for my motor bike. So far charcoal and powder paint have done as good a job as any of the ‘proper’ pigments I've used in the past. Quite cool as their damn sight cheaper

Unfortunately, there are not many boat builders around where I live. Land locked berkshire.

Builder's merchants (proper ones - not the B&Q variety) sell colourmix which is used to tone down mortar when re-pointing - could be worth a try with some clear resin mix.

BTW there are boatyards in Reading/Henley/Maidenhead/Staines area if you want to try them.

Cheers, Pewe.
