roll bar

hello all, sorry to keep posting away asking simple questions., i have the most basic roll bar

pic makes it look like just two uprights! but its a basic bar. now i have heard that really you should have back stays on the bar?

so i am after one of THESE, but despite searching on this site and google i cant find anywhere that sells'em?

could someone kindly point me in the right direction and give me an idea of price im going to be looking at? also could i just taking it to a engineering company and have them weld in some stays, im not too fussed about rose joints, aslong as it wont snap if the worst happens?

That looks MK ish?

Id just weld some back stays onto yours. Muchos easier. Is your welded to the chassis or bolt on?

hi, cheers for the response, its bolted on by four bolts on mounting plates, may just go down the back stay welding route

Russbost on here was offering to have one-offs, modifying tubing made by his supplier.
Maybe worth dropping him a U2U.
Cheers, Pewe

You got something solid to attach the rear stays to at the back of the car?
My MK has no metal round the back there..
(just fiberglass) unlike uncle Rons plans and 90% of other chassis clones

Unless your after the kind of roll bar that goes to the bottom chassis rails in the corners each side of the tank?

Rob

Try speaking to grant from obp, he supplied me with my back stays at a good price delivered.

hmm, yep i think i will stick with just the rear stays, i thought most rear stays went down to the low bar on the mk? if not then im sure it has been done/i could get it done?

cheers all, going to try and hunt down a firm that can do it, any specifications for the tubing? 2.5 steel?

Your car's an MK right? Have you tried contacting them to ask them about it?

Cheers,
