Hi all, what have you used to cover the rear boot, the top part of a MK INDY with full roll cage (i.e plastic, alloy, carbon fibre,) any pictures would be nice, also best place to buy the material from.
soft cover - message the guy on ebay and he sends you a template, you fill it in and he posts out the completed soft vinyl cover - he will probably be able to match the green of your car - or just add green piping.
6mm plywood PVA'd and covered with Black vinyl. Dead easy to do and easily shaped around roll bar stays etc.
Vinyl for me too. Got a local boat chandlers to make up one for me. £40.
Vinyl covered MDF at present but got a mate at Radical Racing to make me a stiffened carbon sheet, just gota get round to fitting it. One of my winter projects!!!
Picture of mine in my archives before I secured it with studs & velcro
I went the soft cover route via the Ebay guy, he's a member on here too but doesn't post very often.
I went with that option mainly because it covers up the rear panel to side panel "bodgy" bit!!
Vinyl covered ply for me as well. Cheap and fairly robust.
Anyone got a link for the "Ebay Guy"??
If it 's Milson your after it's here
JB
Milsons the guy you need to speak to for a vinyl cover.
Mine was £30 and, as I have the MK welded in roll bar, it should be the same as your full cage at the rear. Just need to have a hairdryer handy to
help give the cover a bit of stretch when you first fit it then once it's been on a while it's just about perfect.
I'll be contacting him soon as I want to know if he can do a tonneau cover as well.
Alu on wood.
Mean to include a pic. How do I do?
I trimmed ABS Carbon Lookie-likie sheet with the edging I've used for all my edges and used HD Velco to secure it.
Works for me.
