RAL code equivalent for 380 Camouflage Dessert Sand?
Fred W B - 22/10/09 at 08:04 AM

Can locostbuilders keep up its reputation?

Can anyone quote a RAL colour code equivalent for a BS381C colour - 380 Camouflage Dessert Sand.

Cheers

Just had a look in my colour cross-reference directory. There doesn't seem to be a published RAL match. So the best way would be to go to your local paint-shop and get them to colour match a swatch.

Not really the answer you wanted.

I prefer sand to be in deserts rather than desserts

Do you not have ggoogle in Southernest Africa?

RALcodes here?

Yes we do, and I tried their first. The chart you link to is the BS number codes

I know the BS code
I know what it "looks" like

I need the RAL code

But thanks for the effort

No, and neither does my paint shop, but what we have to do to match say an ICI paint colour mix is make a small amount, spray up a sample, then use a colour swatch to match it, or use a colour spectrometer. A local paint shop should be able to sort that out.

Not sure what that link shows apart from the fact that BS-381C 380 Camouflage Desert Sand is the same as BS-381C 380 Camouflage Desert Sand. it doesn't say what the RAL code is.

Our 1976 mini is british leyland 'Sandglow' its also the colour of the original camel trophy landrovers - not sure if this is the sort of sand colour you meant but thought i would mention it in case.

I think there are some mini pics in my archive - should give you an idea if its what you are looking for.

Good luck with the search
