Evenin' all. I need a bit of advice.
I am trying to decide on whether to make the side panels of my McSorley +442 Locost go right up the the front member or whether to stop it where the
rear wishbones connect to the chassis.
I intend making the panels one-piece rather than 2-piece as some have done.
What are your thoughts please?

My +442 goes all the way to the nose cone. personally I think it looks more finished but really it's up to your own opinion. bear in mind that I had a spare section of panel that i used as a template to cut all the holes required and it was just as well as I cocked up a couple of bits during cutting.
Mine went up to the wishbone coz I'm a lazy get

Not sure that I've got any card or cardboard that's big enough. Don't really fancy taping 17 cornflakes boxes together 
Make them in two pieces, they do look more finished off up to the nosecone. We have fitted some to an MK Indy and fitted the front section so it is flush to the chasis and 1" off the chasis at the back allowing a flow of air wjich aids cooling, also looks nice

I was going to take mine to the nose cone but had to keep the ally tight to the chassis because it was so thin (but so cheap I couldn't refuse!) By doing this though the steering column rubber washer was fouling so I had to have them up to the bone instead.
I went for one piece and up to the nosecone. I just preferred it that way. For templates ring around your local packaging companies. They usually have
cardboard on a roll, and if you tell them what you want it for they'll probably give you some. That's what I did.

Some good ideas there. The other question was whether to keep it tight to the chassis or stand-off, but I think mistergrumpy has answered it for me
My ally was cheap too (sides off a caravan that cost me £00.00p also quite thin - 1mm - so it's a no-brainer really.
