Hi, I want to extend the existing roll-bar by welding on a couple of hoops which will then be braced at the back down onto the existing stays.
Current roll bar is 40mm diam.
Overall length of tubing is approx. 700mm/hoop (needs a bit of straight to join existing on one side).
Any suggestions as to what type/thickness of tube to go for and likely cost to supply it and bend to a 170mm I/D?
Thanks in anticipation, Pewe
I'd suggest speaking to welderman if you can weld it on yourself / can't get your car up to Chorley.
Quite a few people have been happy with his work and he will supply bits of metal bent to your plans.
I have been trying to get hold of him to quote me on a few hundred quids worth of work and cant get a price out of him...............
Hi
Last i heard Joe was of on a skiing holiday. Have seen his pictures on FB so he may still be out there maybe.
Are you sure you really want to add additional hoops to an existing bar. It is certainly not a recommended way of gaining the extra height. May be
worth just getting Joe to quote on a new hoop to the higher height.
Cheers Matt
