I know this has been covered many times, been through pages and pages of search results too.
I need cycle arches to go over 195 50 15s, saw these
:LINK
and saw that some of you have bought them and are happy but my question is regarding the width, I don't want them to be too much wider than the
wheels like these appear to look:
LINK 2
But 240mm wide seems big for a 195 tyre, then again, the ones in link 2 are listed as 230mm wide, but they are plastic not GRP, I'm
painting them anyway, does it matter?.................
I'm lost, help
have a look at play skools site (from the manufacturer of the 2nd link.
200mm wings are suitable up to 195 tyres
sorry, just noticed (after following your advice) that playskool price iss for one arch, cough cough, I can't stump to that at the moment,
So, link 1 for 195 50 15, yay or nay, that is the question!
i'd say they'd be fine (in my very limited knowledge of 7's )
you'll only have about 22mm either side of the tyre, which isn't a huge amount
i bought the exact same set of cycle wings to fit exact same size tyre (240mm)
the 220mm ones or 8.5" in old money are too narrow and more suited to a 185 tyres imo
the quality of the ones you linked to are pretty good for what you pay i am happy with mine they are a bit desposable after all so i don't see
much point in spending a fortune on something that is going to get hit by all sorts flying off the tyre. with the 240mm you will have full coverage
without risk of fouling the tyre sidewall, if you can wait til the weekend i should have some "fitted" pictures too
mounted one side of my cycle wings will finish the other tomorrow and get some pics i have both 220mm wings and 240 so will take pic of both Stott
thanks that would be great, I eventually ordered the 220mm ones yesterday after much deliberation, I think they'll do me best, actual width of my
tyres is 205mm total.
Just finished radiusing the brackets half hour ago, cant wait for the arches now to fit them up then it's time for powder coating!
