I am part way through converting from pinto to zetec. Pinto had a single down draught carb so i made a hole in the bonnet and got a K&N filter. My
zetec is on bike carbs so i a) need hole/holes in a different place and b) need to fill the hole left by the K&N.
Can it be done? And how do i go about matching the gel-coat? Or do i just have all the panels re-sprayed?
Kinda hoping there is a 'locost' solution. BTW it's a tiger supercat (and they want a huge amount of money for another bonnet)
Thanks
Dan
As much as I hate to say it I think I'll have to vote for a new bonnet if its not faded that much, if it has then I'f fill all the holes
with fiberglass and paint the lot.

Do you think it'll be more cost effective to have a new bonnet? Around 200 quid i reckon IIRC
Or new paint job? I really can't decide. Don't really have the money for either right now if i'm honest
Dan
You could fill the hole with some mesh and use it as a bit of extra cooling until you can afford a new bonnet or to do the repair work properly.
What about putting a bulge over it, not this one as I think its a bit big but similar

Another good idea richard. Thank you.
What about cutting the same hole on the other side and mesh-ing both. So at least it's symetrical.....?
Temporary until i can afford new bonnet. Good for cooling too
Dan
Whatever you do, be careful not to make a mesh of it!

How about
Cutting a piece of aluminium about 12mm bigger then the hole type it on over the hole with strong type
Turn the bonnet over fibre glass from the inside add pigment if you like .
when dry remove ally fill and paint
