Is it worth welding my wingstays?

I managed to make a right hash of bending my wingstays - somehow I bent them in completely the wrong direction! What a &%@*!!!, anyway I tried to bend them back today and as I suspected they just cracked, tried heat, no heat, slow fast all with the same outcome.

So, is it worth welding them or are they doomed to early failure?

i'd remake them personally,it'll only be on the back of your mind

If you are a good welder then weld them if not re-make

Don't for the life of me understand why if people make a mess of them they go out and by new ones.
very carefully cut thru the top of the flattened tube just before the weld. only thru the tube both sides and ends. the flat bar can then be pulled out and bracket re-used.
now you can bend some new flat bar to the desired shape and when you're happy put the flat bar back in the bracket and weld it up.
I cut the bar out even before I even tried bending the bar

I changed tire profile and had to change the shape of the stay flats. Had the same problem.

I just cut them off, and then bent four peices of flat, and then welded them back on - done about 500 miles since, no problems.

Cheers fellas, unfortunately I can't weld (yet) although I think it's about time I learned! I think I'll get my self a welder and give it a go, got plenty to practice on. Thanks for the advice.
