How long should I wait before using Farecla on new cellulose paint?
David Jenkins - 5/4/10 at 10:23 AM

As in the title...

I've now got a decent number of thin coats of cellulose onto my scuttle, totalling up to a respectable thickness of paint.

I want to give it a going-over with Farecla G3 before I reassemble everything (and get driving once more!), but I know I have to wait a while so that it hardens off properly.

I painted it this morning (Monday) so would it be OK to finish it next Saturday?

i normally cut 2k back 24hrs after ive sprayed it, i like to do it as the paint is stilll a bit soft, but i would say next week would be fine....

I would wait two to three weeks if it were my car, and I wanted to actually look good...

Steve,

You're probably right, but I don't want to wait that long before putting the screen on and getting the car on the road! I had a burst of reality of the past few days - I built this car to drive, not look pretty, so all I want is for it to look respectable instead of immaculate. It'll never win a concourse event, but that's not what it's for.

So all I want to do is to give the paint a bit of a shine, without messing it all up by doing it too early.
