Has anyone got any details and instructions on how to make your own scuttle?

Im thinking steel frame wrapped with aluminium?

Thanks

I dont have any pics but did mine like that as described in the book, I used 1.2mm steel for the covering and a 1.5mm firewall.
I did see some made from alloy by Robin hood and they appeared to just be folded and bent aluminium stuck together with Sickaflex.

I made the firewall out of zinc coated 2mm steel, welded together a frame with tabs to screw the dash to and wrapped in aluminium.

Mark like the last point

"If I knew it would have been this much trouble, I would have bought all the panels in GRP"

Its the whole crux of locost building. The build time is inversely proportional to the money spent

That looks really good

Agreed.

Mine would just not look anywhere near as good as yours once done though.
Mine would have probably gone straight onto the "to be upgraded" later list

Mark; someday there will be a copy of yours, I just can't get my head around a GRP Scuttle. Thanks

GRP ones are not that expensive: check AGM Sportscars, they make nice stuff for cheap!
