I have got my hands on some 10" wide wheels for the rear of the car and some 8s for the front. The problem is with the rears taht I need to widen the wheel arch to cover the wheels. As this car is used for sprinting and will never see the road I would like to do them in rubber that will have a groove in it so I can just push it on the Grp.I have seen similar used on the front of some rally cars but everyone I speak to has no idea where to get it from. The choice of rubber is that chicanes,cones and pallets dont tend to move easily so if I do "get a little to close" there is some give in the srches ratjer than smash the Grp

Hi, had similar scenario with Jago - fitted bigger wider wheels for better handling and cool looks [and also instant MOT failure due to 4 protruding wheels]

Looked at rubber but too floppy, looked pants anyway; thought of alu but have watched the Kung fool movies with bits of metal slicing people up.

so we settled on ABS - tough yet springy, self supporting, easy to work , free, etc, made some angle shaped peces ( hot air gun and lots of clamps) and riveted to edge of front wing lip. For the back we just bolted a wide strip to body tub, finished edges with some u trim

Thermoplastic sheet as used for car dash boards and moulded door panels- also comes in carbon fibre "sort of look a like"- have a look on the web.
Ideally you need to find a local factory using the stuff and get a few long off cut strips.
What colour is your car ?

or Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (need a QI smiley )

Polycarbonate would also work well but the colour range is limited. Might even find something suitable in B&Q.

If you can't find offcuts or a local plastic supplier ebay always has plenty of both.

I have now "procured" something that will do the trick. You know the hoardings that go up around demolition/building sites and the contractor has those signs with the company name etc on them(about 2 foot by 4 foot) well I say no more

By the way the car is Black and dusty but soon to have the dust blown off it
