Wheel arch spacers
flak monkey - 22/4/10 at 12:20 PM

I am having trouble getting clearance for the sierra calipers in 13" rims and keeping the rims under the arch.

I am not sure what the legal requirement is now. I believe its the rim that has to be under the arch and not the tyre, is that right?

Has anyone fitted spacers (around 6mm thick) to give some more coverage? If so, any pics?

I guess the alternative is to stick with drums at the back but I would rather change to discs and LSD to be honest....

I know its more cost but can you not fit wider arches too.

Being a knowledgeable/research hungry chap, I assume that you've explored different rim-width and offset combinations?

I thought that CXRs went over the caliper anyway?

I am waiting for a reply form Compotive again to see what we can squeeze in under there.

It looks like with the right offset they might just go under.... but I am just weighing up the other options should they not

Easy Peas,
Use plywood spacers, use the current arch as a template, I did it last year and I'm about to do it again to make them wider again.
