Hi Guys
I have a Westfield that I am looking to get resprayed, im pretty useless with the tools but learning slowly
Can anyone give me an idea of how much I should expect to pay and maybe even recommend someone who is familiar with 7 type cars in the Essex area that
could do it for me
Cheers
Stephen
i would ensure they do more than a few layer paint job firstly and i would pay around £400 if you can remove most of the parts to be sprayed.
i got a job with 20 coats to ensure that it doesnt chip so easy like factory paintwork wouldnt.
anyway good luck.
Maybe a better idea to have it wrapped instead?
See previous post
I had seen the wrapping post previously but still a little unsure about it although i haven't discounted it altogether

20 coats!!!!!
How about doing it yourself. I recently got rattle cans from a proper paint supplier and they are very good. I resprayed a Focus bonnet in met black with clear laquer and came out very good after gentle cutting back. This panel is bigger than any single panel on a 7. I recon £200 in paint cans for met finish including clear coat and a few hours work. Good news is if you do it any touching up due to stone chips will be easy. I know a lot of people will mock but the guy who runs the shop says a lot of pros buy the cans for small jobs rather than mess around with the full kit and clean up for a small area.
20 bleedin coats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It will look like crocodile skin in weeks
mines being done atm at mates rates but thats still £250 for the paint and consumables alone not counting for labour
(top quality paint though)

that's what we would charge Mark, sounds about right.
ps yea ....20 coats....... what?
2k paints just don't need that, anybody that tells you that is talking complete crap
more coats does not equal better paint, in fact in many ways the thinner the better in terms of it staying on the car. If it gets chipped it will
happen whether 1 coat or 20 thick
i do two coats of base and two of clear, or two of solid.....
