Bolt on arch spacing out from body ?
The Knobs - 7/6/10 at 08:54 PM

I have bolt on arches on my Striker and may need to space them out from the body possibly up to 10mm. Question is, what can i fill the gap with without using mastic ? It is a track car so doesnt have to be a pristine fit, but would some sort of dense foam be suitable ?

Mdf or ply. draw around the arch and cut it out with a jigsaw.

You could cut the arch and glass a band in.

That's what I did (with MDF, a lot cheaper than 1mm ply). If you use MDF make sure you waterproof it well, I slopped on waxoil then covered in coloured tape, actually looks a lot better than it sounds

I'm sure they would but I bet B&Q and 15 minutes with a jigsaw is cheaper

mdf and gaffer tape looks the way forward then.
