The car I'm building uses Aluminium panels for the sides, rear panel and bonnet. I want to cover this with either paint or possibly vinyl wrap,
or as a leftfield option source grp panels in gelcoat.
Which gives the best allround performance?, ie a balance between looks, durability etc. I know paint would normally be more expensive but I have
someone who will do it for cost of materials plus a few beer tokens.
Cheers
Steve
Paints probably easiest to patch up when it starts looking tired, but then I know nothing about vinyl.
Mine too uses ali panels all round and am thinking vinyl rap for ease and options.
im making mine out of ally and planning on getting the panels vinyl wrapped so i can cheaply get some simple graphics on
Ally is stronger and doesn't crack/chip like gelcote so if you can get it painted for next to nothing i'd get it painted.
Sticky-backed plastic wood-effect!
Vinyl was the way I was swaying but wasnt sure about the durabilty of it to ston chips etc.
Anyone any experience of running a vinyl wrapped car?
