This is the bumper grille cut out of a passing Chrysler PT Cruiser (known as the ant hill mob car in bodyshops!)
Is it thumbs up - give it a couple of hours
Or chuck it in the bin?

Looks good!
I would say give it a go,it's a nice alternative for the mesh grill!
Looks cack
A bit of filling and a coat of paint so it looks like it belongs, could be worth a try.
Looks a bit "heavy", as in Yank tank, rather than light sports car.
looks pants, sorry
Bin.

Put it back on the car it came off.
Sorry thumbs down BBQ grill every time. Good idea mark> on ebay some time ago the BBQ grills came up cheap. Or use CORSA boys overpriced mesh
from HELLFRAUDS @ TWENTY QUID!
Ducks and dive for cover.

Sorry Mark. I think it looks garbage. MHO
Why are you asking us ?? It's your car and you should be building it to your liking surely ??
Sod what anybody else thinks ! IMHO
Jason
does the radius rule apply to front grills/meshes?

Sorry Mark, dont like it but hey its all about choice
Looks too heavy for my taste. I found something that I like that I may try. Industrial grating that goes as the lense for 2x4 foot floresent lights
its about 3/4 inch squares of plastic all with the chrome finish. I thought a few coats of clearcoat overtop may make it last.
Dale
Really dragging it out now, but does it look any better in red?

Alan i think you like the grill so put it in.
The Chrysler boys certainly have spend loads of money in the design of this grill and you can bet your life on it that it has much better airflow
charac.that any sort of mesh grill.
Some of the Italian vintage racecars had similar grills.

Sorry, didn't want to upset, but thought you need to be pleased with it, more than building it for other people to like the look of !
Hey I'm thinking of using a front bumper to avoid certain SVA tests, but i wouldn't ask people on here, I know what they would all say about
it ( cos i would probably say the same )
Jason
FWIW, i think it could work if smoothed out well. I may look into something similar myself, in the interests of an easier pass!
Jason,
Don't worry, you didn't upset me, I am not convinced about it myself yet! Its just one of many options I am leaving open
well i actually quite liked it. in silver too. sod wether it looks heavy. hopefully people will dive for cover quicker if they are looking at it square on!
OK then, FWIW I quite like it. Sure it looks a bit 'heavy' but I prefer 'agressive'.
Give it a go you can always change it.
Detailing the car is the fun part anyway.
Go on, dare to be different....
John
not keen!
I think it looks good.
Look at it the other way - a std locost front - especially with the barbecue grill, looks cack. Its basically an open hole with no style at all.
Id certainly give it a go mark - you can always to to b and q and give it the hampster cage look from a cheap barbie if you need to.

ps
looks crap in red

im not keen on it nor am i amasingly keen on the basic bbq grille, but luego's grill with its very think bars looks good and i might give that a try. keep going with the PT grille tho, will look better with the filling etc and will certainly be different.
I think it should look OK - a bit different which is (probably) always a good thing.
I like it. shame it's not a bit taller so it would fill the whole nose cone nicely. perhaps you could extend the top ribs upwards a bit with some
fibreglass or filler or something.. might be hassle though.
Could look pretty good though I think, especially if you can manage to make it not look out of place on the rest of the car.. like if the interior is
finished nicely and maybe you have other "chunky" detailling on it. I'm not quite sure what I mean, but if you have a bare bones car
with chassis and rivets and that general "stick tub with thin panels on" effect the solid-looking grille might look out of place.
just my two penneth. definitely has potential though.
