Any ideas how to get silicone sealant from fibreglass wheel arches. This is the smooth side.
Thanks
Scalpel close to fibreglass then just rub of with thunb
use a 'toffee wheel' - only a few quid off ebay and works lovely..
Thanks guys
Yeah, its really got to be mechanical. Its a bugger for sure. One reason of many i prefer polyurethane.
You can get a product called "silcone eater", it comes in a half size sealant gun tube.
It's designed for use in bathrooms so it is safe on fibreglass. It'll also eliminate any risk of marking the finish, like using a Stanley
blade.
I think B&Q sell it.
If you have excess bonding agent on a windscreen, could a toffee wheel be used to remove the excess?
light machine oil, duck oil, cooking oil.

White spirit will dissolve silicone sealant but not sure if it will damage gel-coat ???
Use it all the time at work.
