I've just sprayed a spoiler with aerosol paint but it needs a good buffing to bring up the shine. How long should I leave it before attacking it with the buffer? Is there any particular compound I should use for new paint?

I should add that it was all done outside so things were a bit cooler than I would have liked so that may affect the drying time.

I got it mixed to my paint code at my local paint factors. I assume it is similar to Halfrauds paint.

two pack, acrylic, cellulose, synthetic ? they all have a different drying time

If its celly / acrylic at least a week I would wet flat it with p1000 then p1200 then T Cut and a good polish

I always go with 2 weeks minimum at normal room temperatures. In a garage, up to a month! To be honest however, I wish Idid it quicker, as the mrs was not happy with rear wings on her kitchen table for 2 weeks!

My "Personal Painter" asks me to return my cars after 3-4 weeks to polish.
He does a very good job.
I live in the troipics so you may want to adjust.
Or take above advise.

Just sprayed the daughter's MR2 door with aerosol and I will leave it at least 14 days before flatting back, especially in this temperature, might even make it 4 weeks.

The pro shops use heated booths to get the paint to dry hard faster. Do you know anyone who might be able to slip your part into one, if you are in a hurry?.

Re compound, I was advised to use, and have had good reslults with, 3M "Fastcut"
