Is it possible?

I want to take off my front arches and reposition them so that sit behind the wheel better as currently (IMO) they are sat too much 'on' the wheel resulting in a lot of splatter on the rear arches, plus they would just look better!

My inital thought is to try and get a blade in there but this would be tricky, are there any solvents etc that would do the job?

i used white spirit to clean up a chassis rail very effectively, it was still tacki however.

thanks mrwibble (great name btw) yes the PU has been holding the front arches on for a good 3 years now.

I'm not sure there is any "common" solvent once cured. At least not to the degree you would require.
In so much that it is not specifically petrol proof, but you can bet that petrol would not attack it if you wanted it to!
Cutting is probably going to be most effective

PU is resistant to most stuff...

Its awful stuff when reworking... cut it fine and sometimes you can peel it off. Its a right bar steward to get off - precisely the reason you used it in the first place.

when i changed my arches for wider ones i used the knife, hacksaw and everything else that was sharp to remove them and yes do watch out for your fingers

Thanks guys, I know what you mean about the fingers, I have waay to many encounters, I really should have learnt my lesson with blades - CUT AWAY FROM YOU!

Maybe a really thin piece of wire or some fishing line could be dragged through it to atleast get the arch off and then clean up each siide seperately when its easier to work on.

The best way is to heat the steel this is what we do to remove panels off buses
But in your case get some windscreen cutting wire go to a windscreen firm they will have it on rolls and beg some off them
As above mind them pinky's

i used mig wire to cut mine off when the wing stay snapped

beware of driving when the PU's still green though. i lost a dax arch, despite letting the PU cure for about 3 weeks. it had just torn straight through the middle of the PU. i nearly cried. dax cycle wings aren't cheap
