Damaged the rear wing of my Haynes today on something as simple as a post on the drive. Guess what type of work I have to learn to do next!

Brick laying?

The problem is that Clyde automarine seem to have stopped doing them and the quality of the wings was very good and had a large area to allow fastening to the body work. Emails are passing back and forth now.

The damage is not that great an area, but will need fettling before it creeps all over the place. You can see the cracking under the gel coat in the second picture.

And yes I deserved the P**takes for doing the stupid thing, just been on 60 miles run through Trough of Bowland and was lining up to drive up onto trailer.

Adrian

It might be worth drilling a small hole at the end of the crack to stop it spreading, until you can work on it properly.

Hope you get it sorted soon

Cheers

Doh. not as bad as me i scratched a front wing and bent the wing stay pulling off the drive on the way to my iva. ended up bending it back by hand in 2 mins on the drive and dressing the scratch after iva

find the end of the crack and drill a hole in it. that will stop it getting bigger then v out the cracked bit patch with glass behind then re gelcoat. once the gel coat is on stick plastic over it to stop the air getting to it until it sets then sand back and repolish.
