I have had my bulkhead galvanised and also bought some galvanised cappings and would like to know the correct process for painting them.
Any advice will be welcome
Thanks in advance
Wayne
Before painting galvanised Land-Rover chassis and bulkheads, we have always used a good quality etch primer. This really sticks to the Zinc and allows
most paints to be used over it.

Any I've seen painted in our works HGV workshop is first washed with a mordant(or is it mordent) solution which turns the surface black. Then
painted.

I think someone mentioned it, if you leave them out for a few months (don't know whether this is practicable for you), then when it goes dull prep and paint it as you would any other bare metal, and it sticks fine - it's just the fresh finish that doesn't like paint sticking to it.
Yep need to treat first with T Wash or similar.
Cheers all been and got some T wash today hopefully get it started this weekend.
Will post a few pics when i get on with it.
