Locost Door bump out
trialsman - 22/12/10 at 01:29 AM

Does anybody make a GRP or plastic door bump out (for the drivers and passengers elbows) that can be used on homemade doors? I have seen several Se7en doors that have a nice bump added to the normally flat door. My Locost design does not allow a "standard" door to be used so I will have to make them. Yeah I could hammer out some aluminum but if I could find premade ones and add them to my doors it would be a lot better. Sounds like a potential product line for someone with moulding skills. Thanks in advance, Russ

Not ready made, but my solution was to build in an arm rest by bending ali doors through 90 degrees. See here

Quantum Xtreme doors have an elbow bump.

I'll try and find a picture.

Could you not shape some foam the fibreglass over it

That way you could make it the exact siz shape that you want

Its what I plan on doing when I get around to making some doors

Yes, but be careful - those door bumps will kill the aerodynamics.......

Yes, like attaching small streamlined bulges to a brick
