Access to painting setup?

Hi.

Does anyone know of or have access to any facilities for painting a car somewhere near York?

I'm planning the paint for my midget and want to get it done in the cheapest, most efficient way possible.

It's going to be a hillclimber, so the finish is not critical, just needs to be all one colour and presentable to the scrutineers at some point.

My original plan was to paint the whole car white, inside, undereneath - everywhere (I find it makes it easier to see what you're doing in tight spaces).

However, having inspected the bodywork some of it is a bit more rusty that I first thought. This means that I will probably end up converting to a GRP clam shell front and rear sooner rather than later. When I do that, I might as well get the whole thing blasted and repainted all round while I'm at it.

So for now I just want to lash the enterior with red (being the colour of the car at the moment).

I might get a price from a pro for the job, but I suspect that it still won't be cheap so I need to find a more 'locost' approach (I've seen the rustoleum thing, but I'm not sure it's the right answer really).

DIY it. Second hand compressor and gun and use cellulose, which is still available on ebay.

I've been thinking about how to tackle it in the space I have - will have to be in sections while I turn the car around.

My main concern is whether the fumes would get through into my house as the garage is integral - by the time I come to paint I will have 2 children in the house too (got one now, another due in a few weeks).

Second concern is protecting all the rest of the stuff in my garage from overspray.

Paint it on th edrive! If a hillclimber, cheap truck-cote synthetic is pretty good, is forgiving and doesnt come off as easily as celly when you have an off! Cheap HVLP compressor type thing, do it a bit at a time.
Downside of synthetic is that you can't put celly on top, and it doesn't polish (an advantage in my eyes)

I have used their 2K stuff, first time with that after using celly before. Very pleased with the quality of paint for the money.
