hi all ive baught myself a caterham replica
need to start making brackets for cycle guards, headlights and all others
could some1 show me some pics of theres or links to guides please
thanks in advance
hi mate, do you know what uprights you've got? cortina's or sierra. if they are sierra's I know GBS stock them with insert mushrooms already welded on. and not too expensive i think
What actual car is it though?
You said before "based on plans he bought". So it's a Locost? Based on the Ron Champion book? Or a Roadster by Chris Gibbs? A Tiger
Avon?
They're all very different beasts when it comes down to it.
Cheers,
James
right i start again...
... im new to kit cars and i will be asking alot of questions
what are uprights?
i think (find out tmoro for sure) its a caterham replica and i think he used the ron champion book does that sound about right?
thanks
also im going to make my own pannels
alli or steel better? & which size thickness?
thanks
If it's based on the orginal Ron Champion book then it's a Locost.
You'll have a much easier time of it when posting if you stick to calling it that!
The uprights are the big chunk of cast metal that the wishbones attach to. They hold the hub to which the wheel bolts!
If your car has been kept to standard Champion plans then your uprights will be from a Cortina.
However, a lot of people used the similar Sierra upright as it is/was cheaper.
Hope that helps!
James
