I've bought a fibreglass aeroscreen off Ebay and asked for it in gel coat. I received it today and if there is gel coat on it, as it's not
shiny or anything like my other stuff, it's very thin but the main problem is it's full of surface scratches that can be seen quite clearly
and there's a couple of divots in the surface.
I'm thinking of filling and smoothing the whole thing but would I be best priming and spraying it and if I do will I need a specific primer or
is there a coloured gel coat that can go on after I've done. Flo coat?
if its just a aeroscreen, which i would guess is to be black in colour? i'd just sand it down, fill it, smooth it all down and spray with plastic
filler primer, flat back down, and spray black.
i've always intended to spray the fibreglass on my car, in fact the driver door, which cost me about £200, and the roof which was about £100, you
can see the brush marks from the gel coat. i was always going to spray so i never looked into flow/gel coat options, as they seemed far to complicated
and harder to get hold of what you need when you can go to any car accesorry shop and get spray cans, or go to halfords and get some cellulose paint
mixed, any colour you want, and have it done in a day
and there was me thinking i was the only one up!
Too many late nights at work. I'm actually knackered but can't seem to settle so just digging around on here for ideas.
