Cleaning a water rad
bi22le - 5/3/11 at 09:52 PM

Hi all,

My winter tweaking is still rolling on and the car looks sooooooooo much better with black side (pics to follow another day).

So,
3K miles worth of flies on my rad, whats best to get rid of them?

Stiff brush and hot water? Ill be honest, I have not tried anything yet. I thought I would ask here as often people have little tricks to do simple jobs.

Roll on the summer,

Biz

Most of the flies are probably dry and crispy, how about taking it up the filling station and using the air line to blow them off

Try and get some "Coil Cleaner" from an air conditioning supplier.

Hose from the engine side of the rad.

i was going to suggest soak the radiator in a tub of warm water with washing up liquid in it. After 24 hours try a brush - just be careful you don't damage the fins (the hose pipe may be a better idea).

The rad is on the car and I cant be bothered to empty it.

I try the hose from engine side. It gonna make a mess!!!

Confused but excited. - 5/3/11 at 11:20 PM

If they are all dried up, wouldn't a vacuum cleaner get them out?
