daniel mason - 14/3/11 at 10:19 PM

my car is getting towards completion now but before i take it to mnr for the drive shafts to be made and for iva, i would like to give it a good wash and a polish to bring back some shine and possibly remove a few light surface scratches which its gained from a year in the garage!
can anyone recommend me a good source to buy from. preferably online as im busy with work during the week. cheers

AutoGlym.... you wont go far wrong with that.

There are other resin / polymer based polishes that are just as good, but cant recommend any... I use Autoglym.

Cheers

Another for Autoglym. There Aqua Wax is brilliant for finishing after washing.

Jetseal 109 is the stuff to get, bit of an arse as you have to compound the car to remove all old polish and get a nice shine. Apply 2 coats of Jetseal 109 and you can forget polishing for at least a year, or more. Use it on our cars, and rate it highly. HTH Ray

I prefer Mequires to Autoglym now. I used to use Autoglym all the time but find it's very dusty, Meguires smells better too. Make sure you clay bar it first to get the best results.

i find autoglym leaves a lot of dust and residue.

for a good cleaner with a polish i use greased lightning or copy
online around £19.00 a bottle or the copy is available at £6.00 a bottle
it is brilliant.
squirt it onto a dirty car, it removes the crap and applies a polish at the same time
use two micro fibre cloths, one to wipe the crap off and one to buff up the shine

use it on all my cars

So which of the above will also remove some surface scratches too? Or do I need to buy a speprate T-CUT type product as well.
Also do I need an all in one cleaner and polish or seperate items? Cheers for the replies

I use Nielsen at work. Their polish smells very strongly of petrol but is fantastic!
