Vinyl wrapping rear arches?
joemotion - 6/8/11 at 02:42 PM

One of my rear arches has cracked on edge so had to fill and sand. This leaves me with either spraying it black in the line with the existing finish which im bound to cock up or possibly have a play about with vinyl wrap just on the arches.

Anybody done this? Stone guards will eventually protect the majority of the front of the arches however im aware that vinyl is weaker than the current black paint finish I have on. a nice carbon or matt black effect would look nice.

Thoughts please! Cost and suggested suppliers would also be appreciated

Joe

just checked the bay loads of the 3m stuff on there - any particular type more suited?

I have just done mine with the 3M stuff, I only did the front of the rear arches (like stone guards) to see how well/easy it was to do - I still have enough left to do both arches once I see how it stands up to stones etc

To be honest fitting was easier than I thought it would be, although it did take a fair bit of time and effort to get it wrapped round the curves etc, put the wifes hairdryer to good use!!!
