Mate, of mine is lookijng at Armourfend for his rear arches....

I know that that there are many alternatives, eg metal stoneguards etc etc, but does anyone have any experience of Armourfend itself?

I used it on my old Lotus Elise and it worked fine. You just need to be able to put it on, or know someone that can

It was a 'factory option' on my Lotus 340-R and very effective it was too.
I had the front end of the car done to include cycle wings.
Really neat and barely noticeable, unless really close up.
From memory, the option was around £350, 11 years ago.
