I am doing some work on the Indy at the moment and today was going to be "fit the Duratec" day. However, I have also opted to ditch the Sierra Pedal setup and go for a Hydraulic Clutch OBP Kitcar pedal setup (and very nice it looks too
). Anyway, to get the original pedals out and
in prep for fitting the new ones, it seems much easier to remove the Engine bay plate above the pedals. Will probably replace this with a much nicer
looking solution as well.. This means also removing the Scuttle (think that is what it is called) which is riveted in some places and has a layer of sealant as well. Right pain to get the thing off and am about 80% of the way through when I had to stop for the day. Scraping through the sealant slowly and gently prying apart seems to be doing the trick.
In hindsight rather than remove the scuttle I should have just cur the ally plate that is secured under the scuttle. But at least this way it will done correctly.
When I re-fit the scuttle, what is the Sealant that has been used ? I need to get some ordered up ready.
Also, I now have the pedal setup with Brake pedal and cylinder, Throttle pedla & cable and Clutch pedal & cable for a Type 9 fitted if anyone is interested.
