Have looked at pics of teardrop bonnet bulges fitted . Does this mean the aircleaner is dispensed with?

No it's underneath it.

My round pancake filter is smaller than an original air filter ,but I really can't see that going underneath the bulge ,is there a small diam. thin aircleaner available then?

I have a bulge-shaped PiperX air filter under my bonnet bulge!

I bet you say that to all the boys!

I did send a reply to your U2U a few weeks ago - obviously it went astray...

Anyway, I'll be removing the bonnet this weekend (see new topic regarding paint hardening) so I'll take a snap.

cheers,

David

As promised...

The filter is a Pipercross C302D, mounted on a base C3103 (all on top of a Weber 32/36 DGAV) Rescued attachment engine1.jpg
