Guys I suppose I already know the answer but I got to ask...
I bought an interior "SVA compliant" mirror at Harrogate show, and have since noticed that there are NO E markings on it of any kind.
Can a SVA "expert" inform me if mirrors must have markings?
Cheers
i remember a thread a while ago said that it doesn't and all that matters is the size, but i'm no SVA expert, sorry

Thanks for reply m8...
Comon guys..... someone out there willin to help with advice?
Cheers
as far as i was aware as long as you can see the cones, markers whatever they use then it should pass also on another note the guy who just failed sva the mirrors move when struck by an object therefore the edges should be discounted ! just my interp..
The 'e' marking shows that the part that has an 'e' marking has passed type aproval, you don't need to have 'e'
marks just the part has to comply with the regs...
if the part has an 'e' mark, the examiner doesn't need to check the rads etc.
any clearer?
Tim
Thanks a million guys....
My "copy" of the sva manual said E markings were required... but I wasn't sure as I had bought the mirror only on Saturday.
I can now go ahead and fit them
cheers again
The mirrors don't need to knock back unless they stick out further than the extent of the front and rear wings. If they do they will look like Dumbo's ears. Anybody who catches the mirrors will have been hit by the front wheel or reversed over. That's adding insult to injury I think.
