hi guys not sure if iv posted this in the right section, but hopefully you might be able to help
youve probably seen a tot rod or peddal car replicating a car or van but just on a smaller scale, well i want to build vw transporter t5 van about 1/3
scale to promote my business and for the kids to play with.
iv already got a disability scooter to go underneath it and iv got a friend who can make me a mould and build it in glassfibre, the only problem i
have is that i first need to make a scale model and iv got no idea how to build it and im crap at airfix or models.
so has anybody any ideas on how to go about it or are there any talented model makers out there cheers andi
Do a search for model makers, it's not too difficult!
If you mean to make a smaller model of your finished 1/3 scale one then
Have a Google Search for RC cars etc.
May find some help.
I had a quick look and found this
LINKY
I found some T25's but not T5',s but a longer search may turn one up.
The Cheap ABS Vac formed are often fitted to RC cars Called Mardave.
Cheapish and simple RC car made in the UK ( or they used to be)
Also look at the Toylander forum and web site.
This give some Ideas for the finish Tot Rod.

thanks for the advice so far.
i want to make a 1/3 scale version of my t5 to fit over the scooter
iv searched for model makers and everyone says they only work in small airfix scale, spoke with a guy that does models and dummies for shops and he
cant even be bothered to ring me back so hes either not interested or busy
It's a lot of work (or very expensive) to make a pattern - look at the "canamsa" thread just below this thread for how its done. 1/3
scale will just be smaller.
